Wayfinding & interpretation signs designed to guide, inform and educate fell walkers.

Kendal Fell is a sweeping rural landscape on the outskirts of Kendal, offering panoramic views across the Lake District. Home to Kendal Golf Club, the area provides public access and is crisscrossed by popular walking routes frequented by dog walkers and visitors alike.
Westmorland & Furness Council manages Kendal Fell on behalf of various landowners. As part of their management plan, I was tasked with designing a cohesive family of wayfinding and interpretive signs.
Designed to highlight key information to fell users, the ‘L’ shaped monolith signs feature 4 sides of key information.
Each of the signs contains mapping, a code of conduct, and key information about the nature and wildlife that can be found in different areas of the fell. The mapping highlights key sites, along with public footpaths.
The signs are located at 5 key entry points to Kendal Fell.
